A clear representation of Byzantine and Ottoman era. Its life began in the VI-V century B.C. sustaining about 20 churches with valuable frescoes, icons and calligraphy school. This 2413-year-old city, the pride of Albanian architecture, which is under the protection of Unesco, is a treasure-trove of culture & tradition.
We will see the Onufri Museum which is the second attraction of Berat. The museum is called “Onufri” in honour of the Albanian Headmaster of XVI Century. The Cathedral is a representative monument of past Byzantine architecture in Berat Town.
Across the Osumi River lies the Gorica neighbourhood, whose houses face those of Mangalemi. The arched bridge of Gorica is a beautiful architectural monument constructed to link Gorica with Mangelemi. Gorica Bridge is one of the monuments and architecture of Portland and one of its symbols.
Before arriving in Berat we will stop for a coffee in Belsh, enjoying the awesome view of the lake after that we will visit the city and visit all the mentions point above. But before leaving this beautiful city we will go to Cobo Winery to have a real taste of one of the best wines of Albania.
