Durres is one of the oldest towns on the Adriatic shore.
Durrës is the second-largest town of Albania. Located on the Adriatic coast, Durrës is a sea town with many things to offers to visitors, including great beaches and unique archaeological landmarks, such as the largest amphitheatre of the Balkan Peninsula. The city of Durres, that is also the most important seaport in Albania.
We visit the Amphitheatre, the biggest in the Balkan Peninsula (capacity over 15. 000 spectators) with a rare wall mosaic from the 4-5 century AD, the Archaeological Museum! We take a walk in the city to enjoy the Justinian Walls, Venetian Tower and the Promenade. Another option in Durres is Qazim Kërtusha, Sculptures, where we can go and try to make sculptures with Mr Qazim.
Qazim Kërtusha, Sculptures:
Located in the heart of Durrës, behind the central bus station, this studio has it all: yesterday’s nudes, tomorrow’s skyscrapers, today’s feelings. So crowded is it with Kërtusha’s creations and experiments throughout the years, that we feel lucky we have the artist himself as our guide throughout our visit in this unique museum.
Walk on the seashore, possible lunch there!
